Combine that with the mobility that he can bring thanks to the potential of his Sweeping Blade and his Last Breath and you have a champion that can pack a punch. Each stage is drastically different from the other, and one mistake could cost you the lead or even the game.

See, Yasuo has high damage because he deals consistent damage through his Steel Tempest and his auto-attacks he can weave in. However, if you can manage to use the enemy minion wave to your advantage and dash through them using your Sweeping Blade, you have a chance at dodging any skill-shots or potential crowd-control that comes your way.

Another reason that Yasuo has so much risk in the early game is that Yasuo is based on consistent damage and prolonged fights. Usually, most trades end with Yasuo getting off his third stack of Steel Tempest to knock up enemies so that he can get away.

The same goes for top lane. That being said, Yasuo needs to have a clear understanding of what he needs to play like in the early game. He has options on his abilities where he pops off and can be one of the strongest champions throughout the rest of the game, or he can give it all away with the result of a few deaths.

You can go for the early poke and try to shove them out of lane but know your limits. The same goes for if you get caught out by your lane opponent. While Yasuo can follow the rules that most champions follow in the mid-game, he has another option.

See, Yasuo is extremely good at both dueling and fighting, but in team fights, he has to play every single piece of it perfect, or he could get taken out within seconds.

Plus, since Yasuo has such consistent damage and sustain from his passive, Yasuo can easily duel almost any champion out there with the exception probably being Darius or Camille due to their insanely high damage from different parts of their kit.

However, other than that Yasuo, is pretty much extremely deadly in his lane. If a mage comes to a stop him, Yasuo can probably take them out.

The same goes for an AD Carry or a tank. As long as Yasuo has one or two items on him, he should be fine. Therefore, there are two main ways in which you can approach the situation.

One of these situations is much easier than the other. The easier situation is kiting your opponents, jabbing at them with your Steel Tempest till you reach two stacks and have your tornado available.

Then, whenever one of the enemy squishy champions get close to you, use your tornado and try to land a knock-up followed by your ultimate to get in.

Once you have your Last Breath on them, do everything you can to burst them down before the enemy team converges on you to try to kill you. The other option is much harder to do, but it yields much better results.

This option is using your Sweeping Blade and Steel Tempest to dash through the team dealing as much damage while avoiding as much crowd-control and damage as possible.

Yasuo may be a squishy champion since, most of the time, he only builds damage and critical strike items. However, thanks to his Wind Wall and Way of the Wanderer passive, Yasuo can be quite a menace in the team fights provided he can play it right.

Furthermore, you should never stop. If you stop, the enemy team is going to converge on you and kill you. While doing this, weave in Steel Tempest stacks and auto-attacks in between and once you reach three stacks of Steel Tempest, you can look to get a knock-up to cast your Last Breath if you have it, thus refreshing your Way of the Wanderer passive and getting you ready for the next fight.

One mess-up could mean you die. In the end, choosing which way you play depends on how experienced you are at League of Legends. Either way, they both have the same effect but different strengths and weaknesses.

The other option is fighting with your teammates, and that works as well. However, while split-pushing may not have many changes to it, the team fighting is drastically different.

There is one catch to it, though. No matter how well you play the team fight as Yasuo, every single team fight will be a close call for the champion.

These are watered down stats of Phantom Dancer, but the passive of Statikk Shiv makes up for it. Moving and attacking grant this item bonus energized stacks. Whenever the item reaches one hundred stacks, the next attack deals bonus magic damage for up to five nearby units if possible.

This can easily result in six hundred to eight hundred damage in mixed forms of both physical and magic damage.

However, you should only pick two of these three with Infinity Edge being a necessity out of all the combos. Either way, both of these combos work well in their ways and also have their drawbacks.

There are countless tricks on Yasuo that you can pull off, and to this day, there are still tricks that are being found inside his kit. If I had to rank the importance of these runes on Yasuo from top to bottom, I would easily say that Conqueror would be first, Fleet Footwork second, and Press the Attack third.

Arguably, in some cases, Fleet Footwork might even be better than Conqueror. The reason I put Conqueror as the top choice is because of how it works. All of these runes can be effectively applied to Yasuo but knowing how to use them comes first before you can have any success.

Yasuo top is VERY underestimated against most people who are plat 3 and lower at least from personal experience. You're able to get lots of harass down with your Q along with E Q combos to minions, just keep in mind your positioning and the route youre going to take in to harass and back out to escape.

Your goal is to sustain until 6 and either before both of your first backs or right after your first back is to harass and all in. After that I grab situational tank items.

In my opinion he only needs those 2 items to effectivelly do damage and the build and masteries allows you to sustain and still be a formidable bruiser with enough damage to be a focal point in teamfights.
